About the meta-political sense of sacrifice.
Abstract
The persistence of the immolation and other sacrificial practices as an expression of peasant resistance seems to suggest a political appropriation of the sacrifice that is no longer properly sustained in the construction of an “identity”, but in the affirmation of this one, or in some cases, understood in the sense of the "recovery" for this “identity”. However, the divergence of readings in this regard suggests that the mentioned phenomenon refers to a complexity that transcends the scope of the merely rational and relational, since their consideration hardly exceeds the evaluation and / or valuation of a decision, but rather demands a reflection about the political foundation of this “identity”.
