Abstract
The oral health of children begins from home. This has been related knowledge, attitudes and practices of oral health of parents. Belong to a lower socioeconomic status, the delegation of childcare to grandparents or caregivers by long working hours of parents, problems of oral health of family members , have more than 4 children and physical neglect are factors risk for dental caries. Dysfunctionality and type of family structure, as well as single parents, may increase the risk of dental caries and its severity.
The case of a female patient of 4 years 2 months of age with childhood caries with total lack of hygiene, which seeks not only rehabilitate, restore aesthetics and masticatory function, but implementing and maintaining measures presented preventive after removing carious lesions in order to prevent a recurrence since the consequences of having suffered childhood caries include increased risk of new lesions in both primary teeth and permanent teeth
