Abstract

Stress is a set of physiological, cognitive, emotional and behavioral responses organized by our organism that are always present and prepare us to be vigilant, to adapt, to survive and to cope with stressful situations.
Stress, seen from the biological approach is a set of physiological reactions that prepare the body for action and its main function is to protect the individual. From the psychological approach, stress is the result of a special relationship between the individual and his environment that is assessed by itself as threatening and putting their welfare at risk. From the biopsychosocial approach, stress is approached as a process that incorporates both stressors such as physiological, cognitive, emotional and behavioral responses, the interaction between the individual and his environment.
