Consumo sustentable en turismo: desde una percepción del consumidor

Desde hace décadas el turismo es reconocido como motor de crecimiento y desarrollo económico. No obstante, en la medida en que se genera dicho crecimiento también incrementan los efectos ambientales adversos. Esto se debe a que la movilidad y el consumo de bienes materiales forman parte intrínseca de la prestación del servicio. En este sentido, se propone que el sector turístico contribuya desde una visión de consumo sustentable con mejores prácticas que permitan potenciar la reducción del consumo de recursos. Por ello, en esta investigación se realiza una revisión de la literatura para identificar la percepción del consumidor respecto a las prácticas de consumo sustentable que implementan las empresas turísticas. Como resultados, destacan: 1) el comportamiento ecológico / responsable del consumidor; 2) las actitudes del cliente hacia las prácticas ambientales que adoptan los establecimientos de hospedaje; 3) el impacto de las prácticas ecológicas en las actitudes de los clientes de establecimientos de alimentos y bebidas; y 4) las experiencias ecológicas en los destinos turísticos.
