Abstract

Homosexuality is a controversial issue in several countries of the world, in 2015, 1218 homicides due to homophobia were registered in Mexico, and it is estimated that for each case registered 3 or 4 more cases were not reported. Consequently, lesbian-gay people suffer constantly causing somatic and psychological disorders such as the presence of tremors, phobias and even anxiety, etc. The main objective is to evaluate the impact of homophobic experiences and their influence on the subject in such a way that it causes a clinical picture of anxiety. To obtain the results, two questionnaires were applied, the first one assesses the intensity levels and the number of times that they have had both physical and verbal homophobic experiences and these have categories about the aggressors, such as close and / or distant relatives, friends, co-workers and strangers and the second questionnaire assesses levels of social anxiety. In order to be able to correlate and know whether or not there is a relationship between a homophobic experience and the presence of anxiety, taking as reference the results obtained from thirty young people (n=30), which only sixteen were sufficiently favourable for their evaluation since they did not gather the necessary characteristics.
