Optimization of work stations in a warehouse in the textile sector of the Hidalgo state

Abstract

The balancing problem of assembly lines presents a diversity of modalities and types depending on the conditions in the organizations and the problem to be solved; Being considered as an NP problem, its solution presents computational complexity limitations; therefore, the exact methods are not feasible due to the need of organizations to find solutions in a reasonably short time, for which heuristic methods are used. In this document, a local search heuristic is proposed to minimize the number of workstations in the warehouse of a textile company in the Hidalgo State based on sampling and determination of the probability distributions to which the activities of the process are adjusted. that is, considering stochastic times. The results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm by reducing the number of workstations in the warehouse of a company in the textile sector.
