Nursing Interventions in blood transfusion
Abstract
The World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization to establish that provide safe blood to the population should be encouraged teamwork, get the blood and blood components and altruistic voluntary, unpaid donors and regular, making sure receive quality care. Within the area of transfusion medicine, the role of the nurse is critical because it intervenes in the process of obtaining blood components, performs therapeutic apheresis procedures, transfused blood components, serving donor adverse reactions or patient, among other activities of importance. In order to increase transfusion safety, a protocol for nursing care based on the Mexican Official Standard NOM -253 - SSA1-2012, for the disposal of human blood and blood components for therapeutic purposes is proposed, and guide clinical practice scientific evidence.
