Bioetchical Aspects of Genetically Modified Food Consumption

Keywords: Biotechnology, Genetically Modified Foods, Innocuousness, Bioethics, Human Health

Abstract

Thanks to the advancement of technology, genetic engineering and molecular biology, genetically modified or modified foods have been developed or modified. In its early life, Genetically Modified Foods (GMAs) were intended to gain advantages in the areas of agriculture and livestock. This technique subsequently began to be applied in the field of food production for human consumption, but much controversy has been generated regarding its use.  This test aims to review available scientific information regarding the applications, benefits and potential risks to human health and the environment associated with the consumption of GMO or GMA foods, as well as their relationship to bioethics.
