Determinantes socio-ambientales de la salud en la Colonia San José El Mirador Apan Hidalgo, México
Abstract
Among the determinants of health, we can highlight lifestyles because those are more important than the increases in hospitals; they represent the main challenges to improve population health, lifestyle of Mexican citizens and accessibility to health services, which are challenges for politicians and scientists for improving the health status of the population. The aim was to identify socio-environmental determinants of health in the neighborhood known as San José el Mirador, Apan Hidalgo, Mexico. Material and methods. An exploratory study was conducted in 30 economically vulnerable families from the neighborhood known as Mirador San José, Apan Hidalgo, Mexico. Results and conclusion. There are risks of developing diseases caused by poverty, people use pesticides and this could be associated with the limited knowledge available to them about the risks involved in applying such chemicals, and even regarding the use of pesticides such as the furadan.
