Programas de Intervención Para Favorecer la Salud Mental de Estudiantes Autistas Disponibles en Instituciones de Educación Superior: Una Revisión Sistemática

Durante la adultez, las personas autistas suelen presentar con frecuencia diversas problemáticas de salud mental, especialmente depresión, ansiedad e ideación suicida. Esta situación se agrava debido a la escasa investigación e intervención posterior a la infancia, lo cual ha derivado en una limitada disponibilidad de servicios especializados para el estudiantado universitario autista. El presente trabajo consistió en una revisión sistemática basada en los lineamientos PRISMA. Las plataformas de búsqueda fueron: Web of Science, EBSCO y Scopus. El objetivo de la revisión fue identificar programas, servicios o intervenciones dirigidas a estudiantes universitarios autistas orientadas al bienestar y la salud mental. Se analizaron 12 artículos que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión, en su mayoría provenientes de Estados Unidos, con diseños cuantitativos enfocados en el desarrollo de habilidades sociales o académicas. Los resultados evidencian la escasez de intervenciones centradas en la salud mental, así como la ausencia de enfoques participativos y el uso limitado de lenguaje respetuoso hacia la comunidad autista. Se concluye que es urgente ampliar la investigación en contextos fuera del eje anglosajón, incorporar metodologías participativas y diseñar servicios que respondan a las necesidades específicas del estudiantado autista, con el fin de reducir las problemáticas de salud mental y sus consecuencias académicas.
