La felicidad en la BIARE. Un análisis desde la perspectiva de la modernidad tardía
Abstract
In this paper, an analysis is performed around the theoretical scopes that some late-modern notions of Anthony Giddens have in order to understand social phenomena in societies such as in Mexico. It analyzes three aspects that are emphasized in Giddens’ work: a) the reflexivity, primarily as a form of self-thought of contemporary women, b) the emergence of global risks that generate great uncertainty in people and c) the emergence of an exacerbated self which leads to an increase of individuality. These points are compared with quantitative data of happiness which are extracted from the “Bienestar Autorreportado” module (BIARE). This analysis enables to combine abstract elements with empirical arguments.
