Fissure sealants in patients with HIM

Abstract

The use of pit and fissure sealants as a treatment option in dental organs with hypomineralization is very useful to prevent the development of carious lesions, especially in cases of fully erupted molars with mild, non-sensitive and unbroken defects, but to ensure the survival and success of such material, it is necessary that they be regularly monitored and replaced when they are lost. Taking this into account, research has been carried out in order to share the different uses of pit and fissure sealants, as well as their classification, allowing the choice of the best preventive restorative material in our child patients who present incisor-molar hypomineralization. Well, early management in an appropriate manner will allow us to preserve these teeth in the arch for a longer period of time.
