Abstract

The cells can accumulate abnormally substances. These substances can cause damage to cells, or may not cause any problems. They tend to accumulate in the cytoplasm, but can also be found in the nucleus or organelle. They can be endogenous or exogenous.

There are three types of accumulations: First degenerations: are caused by an accumulation of normal cell components (lipids, proteins and carbohydrates) due to problems with disposal or increased production. An intracellular abnormal metabolism may occur. In the second, tesaurosmosis: formed by the accumulation of substances abnormal cell diseases. Usually congenital and due to the lack of any enzyme. And third pigmentation: the accumulation of pigments, which are indigestible substances from different colors, backgrounds and varying pathological significance. This is a report of practices a degree in dentistry, whose objective is that students learn to recognize abnormalities in different tissues on microscope.
