Abstract

Breastfeeding is as old as humanity itself; today we know all the benefits it has, thanks to hundreds of research and articles that talk about it. In recent decades, breastfeeding has become an important indicator for the welfare of society as a whole. It is a natural process of the female body, it is intended to be fostered and improve the health of babies worldwide.
With the World Week, Innocenti Declaration, made by senior OMS and UNICEF in August 1990 to protect, promote and support breastfeeding is commemorated. What is the importance of breastfeeding?
