Abstract

Silver is a precious metal of high economic and technological value because of its variety of uses and applications in the industry. At the same time, his recovery from wastewater has environmental importance because of the strict regulations that exist today. Thus, the development and continuous improvement of silver recovery methods are of broad interest worldwide. According to the above, in this document some strategies that have traditionally been used to obtain this metal, as well as the latest developments are shown. So, cyanidation processes, the use of electrolysis and the implementation of membrane technology are discussed.
