Overload in the Primary Caregiver of Patients with Terminal Stage Illness in a Hospital of the Second Level of Hidalgo

Abstract

Introduction: The conditions in which the daily activities of the informal caregiver are developed, make it a vulnerable being from the sanitary point of view in this context, the family caregivers become indirectly a victim of the disease due to the great dependence of the patient. El objective of this work was to analyse the level of overload that is generated in the primary caregiver to patients with terminal stage disease of a second level hospital in the state of Hidalgo. The methodology used for this study is from a quantitative approach of a descriptive type, in the same way it is a non-experimental research design, and a transactional one. The unit of study is the people who perform a role of primary caregiver of terminally ill patients. The specific context in which the research was carried out was at a second level hospital1, located in the State of Hidalgo, during the period of January - June 2018. Results. In this work it was found in the primary caregiver of patients in terminal stage in a second level hospital in the state of Hidalgo, that 53.3% of the respondents showed intense overload. Discussion, According to the article: Risk of getting sick and overload of the elderly caregiver's dependent. Conclusion: we analysed the level of overload that exists in the caregivers of patients with terminal illness of a Hospital of the state of Hidalgo, concluding that a significant 42% percentage presents intense overload.
