Personal security system based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology to help students in danger.

Abstract

This work tries to give a technological alternative for the aid of students in case of dangerous situation. The proposal presents the development of a mobile application and a bluetooth communication prototype that together operate as a personal security system for students of the Higher School of Tizayuca (ESTi). The main objective is to help students who are in danger near the ESTi. The operation of the personal security system is based on activating a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication prototype through a button, which communicates with a mobile application installed on the user's smartphone, the mobile application automatically shares the location of the user in real time and sends SMS help messages to users who are close to him, and to certain specific contacts so that they can help him in some way.

Due to the current pandemic situation, the device could not be tested near the ESTi, however it was tested in another location and worked as expected, the development of this prototype is useful to the population to which it is directed since it is its relatively low cost and the application would be free.
