Manufacture of a zamak type A pulley with two V-grooves by casting in a sand mold and lathe machining
Abstract
This paper shows the manufacturing route to obtain a zamak type B pulley with two V-grooves by applying sand mold casting techniques and parallel lathe machining for manual use. In the sand mold casting process, scrap metal was processed as raw material and the use of casting models obtained by 3D printing. On the other hand, the machining parameters were calculated and adjusted in the use of the parallel lathe for the removal of zamak using the high speed steel as a cutting tool. The manufacturing route applied was adequate to obtain the mechanical part with a diameter of 6 inches.
