Risk factors influencing the prevalence of gestational diabetes
Abstract
Introduction: Gestational diabetes is the third major category in the current clinical classification of diabetes, and represents a risk factor for women and for the product Objective: To identify risk factors that influence the prevalence of gestational diabetes. Methodology: The design is quantitative, descriptive, transversal approach. The sample consisted of 25 women with gestational diabetes who attend, signed informed consent. A questionnaire was used assessing risk factors affecting the development of gestational diabetes. Results: The age range was 15-37 years, the risk factors found are not performing exercise with 68% obese and 36% .Discussion and conclusions found that age is a factor risk, lifestyle since most of the surveyed population is sedentary and does not perform any physical activity during pregnancy. It is observed that pregnant women with gestational diabetes do not exercise at any time and adding to it not having a good diet and risk by inheritance, greatly it affects their quality of life.
