The Tarte Tatin is an inverted traditional French dessert created by the Tatin Sisters, it became popular in the early XX century. It is made apples caramelized with sugar and covered with puff pastry. It is baked until a golden crust and the pastry’s traditional fine layers are formed. Even though puff pastry’s origins are not French, it was introduced to France during the time of the crusades. It became more and more popular until the technique was perfected.
