Buying habits of used clothing consumers in the municipality of Tizayuca, Hgo., and its impact on the prevention of health risks.
Abstract
This research work, which identifies the habits that consumers of used clothing have regarding the recommendations of the Health and Social Assistance Commission of the Federal District (CSASDF) for their purchase, has a cross-sectional design, of a non-experimental type with a descriptive scope. In the first place, the guidelines issued by the CSASDF to sell used clothing are recognized and, secondly, the application of a research instrument to consumers allows the identification of possible health risks. The results show negative aspects, mainly that most of the people who buy second-hand clothes are unaware if it has been disinfected and, in the same way, in the places they buy there are no signs that identify used clothes; on the other hand, in the positive aspects, it is found that most consumers perceive their purchase as fairly clean and without pests; however, they wash their clothes before wearing them. This research provides recommendations to consumers to improve their purchasing habits.
