Abstract

Decide when it makes sense to pursue strategies of position, leverage or opportunity, the key is to look first at the immediate circumstances, current resources and the relationships between the various resources. Understanding these factors will help you start with the framework of timely analysis, observing available resources, competitive advantage and the dynamism of the industry.

In order to choose the type of strategy it is necessary to consider the following options:

  1. The position strategy, to use when the industries are stable and have identified the competitive advantage.
  2. The leverage strategy, is used in markets where the change is moderate, leverage strategies often exceed the position strategies; It makes sense for managers to strategically co-evolve their important resources with the industry.
  3. Opportunity strategy, develop in the market where dynamic industries are characterized by superabundant flows of rapid movement but often unpredictable opportunities.
